World Malaria Day

World Malaria Day

World Malaria Day, which takes place on 25 April each year, is an internationally recognized day, highlighting the global efforts to control malaria and celebrating the gains that have been made. This day was established in May 2007 by World Health Organization (WHO) and ratified during the 60th session of the World Health Assembly, WHO’s the decision-making body. The Ministry of Health through the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) has always joined the global community to mark World Malaria Day since 2008. The National WMD 2024 commemoration, whose aim is to highlight the progress made in malaria over the past year will be held in Kisumu County.
