Background:

The national malaria control programme is mandated with the responsibility of providing overall guidance on policy, strategy and implementation of the Kenya malaria strategy. These roles include the review, development, dissemination of various key strategy and implementation documents and materials for malaria control in the country.

As a result the NMCP has over time has produced various documents and materials which provide a crucial appraisal of the work undertaken in malaria control in Kenya. These documents and other materials are in various formats including print, digital audio and audio visual.

 

Objective:

To design and develop web-based information repository that will contain programme generated information products (past and present).

 

Requirements:

1.To provide a roadmap for the design and development of a web-based information repository for the NMCP

2.Share and obtain sign-off for the design of the NMCP repository

3.Liaise with NMCP core team to obtain and refine requirements on interface, functionality and access.

4.Gather information content from NMCP core team

5.Development of web-based repository with search engine capability; universal accessible document/media formats views and download.

6.Development of a content management system

7.Provision of documentation and training for user-end administrator.

8.Convert documents and other materials into appropriate digital formats where applicable/possible.

9.Provide options for hosting and maintenance of repository with technical and financial assessment.

 

Skills and Experiences

  1. Proven experience and track record in web design and support
  2. Experience in web development for public institutions
  3. Experience in development of digital libraries, repositories or similar interfaces
  4. Experience using open source platforms

Duration

The duration for the development is 2 month.
